HISTORIC CHARM…………

Situated in the heart of Granada´s historical centre, Palacio de los Navas is a fine example of 16th Century Granadian architecture. Lovingly restored in 2005, this former noble residence retains many of its original architectural features including Arabic brickwork both inside and out, stone columns and wooden ballustrades.

The stone floor of the patio courtyard and its delicate fountain, where a lonely flower floats peacefully around the gently rippling water, are also original. Here there are several small tables and chairs as well as a sofa and armchairs where you can unwind with a book or perhaps engage in conversation with other guests.

The 19 bedrooms are arranged around the patio courtyard over three floors. Although not the largest (obviously confined by the size of the original palace), they have been beautifully decorated by the lovely Director, Lucía Salas, in cool beiges, whites and muted greens. The calm, relaxing ambience is enhanced by plenty of natural light. The stone-tiled bathrooms are gorgeous; some have a bath, but most have a large shower. I recommend requesting a Superior Double or Suite upon booking if you prefer a more spacious room. Residential traffic does pass by one side of the Hotel. If you are concerned about noise from the street, you may wish to request a room away from the street. The hotel is completely wheelchair accessible.

Room amenties include satellite television, telephone, heating and air-conditioning, wireless internet, safety deposit box, mini-bar and hair dryer. For that extra touch of comfort, a pillow menu is available. A nightly turn-down service complete with the following day´s weather forecast is also provided. Massages and beauty treatments can be arranged on request, or you may wish to pamper yourself at the nearby Arab baths.

Only breakfasts are served at the Hotel, but not to worry, the Hotel is situated on a popular pedestrian-only tapas street and you will be just a few steps away from the tasty treats of Granada.

Palacio de los Navas is in a fantastic location for visiting Granada and all its treasures. The famous Alhambra Palace is just a 15-minute walk away (or a one-minute walk to the Alhambra bus stop – it is always easier to walk down after your visit!). Private tours can be arranged in reception and your guide will even come to collect you at the Hotel. You should purchase tickets in advance as it does sell out on a daily basis (www.alhambra-tickets.es). Skiing in the Sierra Nevada is just 35km away. The friendly staff will gladly advise on excursions.

The Hotel does not have private parking but there is a car park (12€ / night) less than a two-minute walk away – very convenient in a city where parking can be a nightmare!!

An ideal Hotel if you are looking for elegant accommodation for exceptional value with easy access to all of Granada´s monuments. An ideal citybreak Hotel.
