AND AN ORGANIC LETTUCE ..............

This restored Mallorquin finca (farmhouse) is a joy to the senses. The same architect responsible for the stunningly minimalist Hotel Convent de la Missio in Palma has come up with another gem, creating a wonderful mix of traditional terracotta floors, beamed ceilings and breathtaking use of space and light. White and cream are the order of the day, but the clever use of lighting and "objets" leave it feeling anything but sterile. It has been in the same family for many years and the delightful Director, Alicia who is part of that family, will make sure that your every need is tended to. There are 42 hectares to get lost in. Located near the town of Campos (not one of the most attractive on the island!) you are just a short car ride from the best unspoilt beaches of Mallorca.

In true "agrotourism" style the Hotel boasts its own organic vegetable plot and when we were there in May it was filled to the brim with vegetables and fruit planted in the most perfect of straight lines that would make any gardener jealous. Fresh orange juice squeezed every morning from the Finca's own orange plantation is served at breakfast. Freshly laid eggs from their own chickens are also served.

The three salons are again beautifully decorated in whites and creams - the fireplaces in them all would make them truly inviting places in winter. The 11 bedrooms are light and spacious and all have the added advantage of their own private terrace and Jacuzzi. Excellently equipped - satellite TV; Wi-Fi internet: minibar; safe; heating: aircon; bathrobes; slippers etc.

Lawned gardens lead you to the large swimming pool with a covered terrace and barbecue area. Although there are no spa facilities massages can be arranged on request.

The small restaurant serves breakfast and dinner and is open to the public although Hotel guests take priority. Local products are used whenever possible giving dishes a distinctly Mallorquin feel with the occasional international twist.


An ideal Hotel for those who want peace and quiet (although probably not in August when it has many repeat Spanish families from the peninsula) in a tranquil agricultural setting. A perfect winter hide-away.
